SUSTAINABILITY IS NOT HYPERBOLE
We are hearing terms like ‘sustainability’ and the ‘circular economy’ more and more. Some brands have implemented these concepts into their strategies, using them to lure potential customers to their products or services. But this empties these concepts – they become empty buzzwords with little substantive impact.
True sustainability and the circular economy that comes with it require both responsibility and a clear vision. In the eyes of RETEX, waste thus becomes a resource, and is not something to be quickly thrown away. At RETEX, we see the main task of the circular economy as being to inhibit or completely stop a system in which large amounts of waste are generated. Instead, waste should be returned to production. If the thinking of business decision-makers can be changed in this direction, then the goal of the circular economy – to sustain future generations using current resources – will also be fulfilled.
